Our Women with a Mission

What is WMU?

Founded in 1888, Woman's Missionary Union is an auxiliary of the Southern Baptist Convention that seeks to equip adults, youth, children and preschoolers with missions education to become radically involved in the mission of God. Headquartered in Birmingham, Ala., WMU is a nonprofit organization that offers an array of missions resources including conferences, ministry ideas and models, volunteer opportunities, curriculum for age-level organizations, leadership training, books and more.

WMU at Fellowship

At Fellowship Baptist Church, the WMU is strong and active.  The women of the WMU have recently been involved in helping decorate a room at the Hospitality House in Vienna.  We have hosted tea parties, held different devotions, enjoyed an annual Christmas party, and made baby blankets for mothers in need at area hospitals and delivered cookies to our neighboring seniors.  Many of the women are also currently involved with Secret Sisters, where they secretly do something special each month to cheer and support another sister in Christ.

We encourage all women in our church to get involved in WMU and to do mission projects in our area.  Many projects are currently being planed for the 2010-2011 Church Year.  Below is just a sampling of what some of these events could be.
